Feb. 2011 - Jury returns a punitive damages verdict against former San Jose Police Officer and District Attorney Investigator Sandra Woodall (Case #1-09-CV-136463), holding her accountable for the injuries she caused as a result of driving while intoxicated. Following the jury verdict attorney Robert Allard with the law firm of Corsiglia McMahon & Allard, representing the victim, agreed to forego a hearing to establish the amount of punitive damages by stipulating for a total of just over $247,000.
March 2011 - Attorney Robert Allard with Corsiglia, McMahon & Allard persuaded a Santa Cruz County jury to award more than $600,000 to a homeless 41-year-old skateboarder who was hit and severely injured by a car driven by a prominent Santa Cruz County resident. The jury reduced the award to $387,000 after determining that the skateboarder, Shawn Erwood, was 37% at fault for the accident.
